So NOW you have gone to call me female names?!! That's TWICE now. I can understand if the letter "H" was relative close to the letter "L"....but....if you are trying to get my attention....you have....
Nice try, in trying to find examples for your argument. Apparently, what Sanchez took was a banned substance, but not anabolic steroids. Looks like it was available OTC:I have another one for you, which I have no pic of....How about 5-10, 179 lbs Alex Sanchez...HE tested positive....Lat played for Tampa Rays a couple of years back....NEVER had more than 2 homers in season.....
Yeah...he's built like a monster.....AND tested POSITIVE for steroids. Like I said, for every MONSTER home run hitter you come up with, I can come up some average Joe of average size...that steroids did NOTHING for them except.....you ready? ....I mean this is what I have telling everyone what steroids in baseball really does.....you ready.....
....extend your career....!!
"I recently failed a Major League Baseball drug screening because I used an over-the-counter supplement that I purchased before the laws banning certain substances changed on January 15th. If I am guilty, I am guilty of not taking the initiative to learn more about the contents of what I was taking. Once my agent informed me that I had tested positive, I then started finding out what was in my supplements. Then, and only then, did I find out about the particular ingredients of this supplement."
The status of several substances changed from over the counter to prescription drugs as of Jan. 15 under federal legislation and were added to baseball's list of banned substances.
It's possible that Sanchez did not know the supplement contained a banned substance. Or it could have contained a substance that was in the process of being banned, and the ban had not yet taken effect.
When the Food and Drug Administration announced a ban on ephedra in December 2003, it made it effective not then but as of April 12, 2004. The F.D.A. seemed to be giving retailers a chance to sell their existing batches of products containing ephedra.

Ok...I used steroids...instead of a banned substance....same difference.....did it make him a better ball player? Did he hit Ruthian type number? Did it make him HUGE at 5-10, 179 lbs??!! It still my point clear.....for every monster guy, I can supply and average joe that didn't become a monster.
Give it to me, Cosmo, or Alex Sanchez (who?) and it isn't going to just miraculously turn us into Babe Ruth.
THAT is my point about Oswalt....as of now, can you HONESTLY say you believe what ANY player says in regards to steroids....I mean EVERY SINGLE PLAYER that has been caught has denied it till the cats come home....until they were caught.
So...again, thinking "outside the box", just because he is boney and small framed, does NOT automatically make him a candidate to not be taking 'roids....
We've already discussed ad nauseum about the many reasons why players took PEDs, with adding muscle being one of them. There were 29 pitchers named in the Mitchell Report, do you think they used PEDs to get jacked??Ok...I used steroids...instead of a banned substance....same difference.....did it make him a better ball player? New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez might be suspended for admitting he used performance-enhancing drugs, Commissioner Bud Selig told USA TODAY on Wednesday.
Selig and Major League Baseball officials realize any attempt to suspend Rodriguez would be challenged by the players union since the penalty phase of the testing policy was not implemented until 2004. Yet Selig said he sent a memo banning steroids around 1997 and that it was illegal to possess them without a prescription.
my brain doesn't trust anyone in baseball anymore.

Anyway, back on topic.
Is there a worse commissioner in sports than Selig?? Apparently, he is contemplating suspending A-Rod* because the roids he used were illegal.
Does he really want to fight the union over this??

I think Selig should be suspended. Either that or overthrown completely! He shares just as much fault as the players in this whole mess. Selig is such a dope.

I agree with you. Just by making comments that he is thinking about it shows that MLB doesn't have a clear plan to address the problem and they are reacting on-the-fly to public pressure to do something about it...I do not agree with any suspension for A-Rod. Yes he is a cheater and a fraud in some aspects. However, these tests were supposed to be confidential and to gage if there was a steroid problem in baseball. Nothing more. Any discipline would be a mistake and make matters worse.

This is why the 'inside info' people really need to stop telling us how smart they are. The world is full of internet heroes who claim to be on the 'inside' to make them sound credible. When in fact they know nothing more than the rest...

An unauthorized and highly anticipated book about Alex Rodriguez is coming out a month sooner than planned.
Publication of Selena Roberts’ “A-Rod: The Many Lives of Alex Rodriguez” has been moved up from May 19 to April 14 as scrutiny builds on the New York Yankees slugger after he acknowledged using banned substances from 2001-2003 while playing for the Texas Rangers.
“A-Rod,” which reportedly includes salacious details about Rodriquez’s private life, was originally titled “Hit and Run: The Many Lives of Alex Rodriguez.” Publisher HarperCollins, which this week listed the new release date on its Web site, has announced a first printing of 150,000 copies.
