Really? Detroit won? Well that makes me feel better that we won a game we walked 12 batters and our closer came into the 9th with a 3 run lead and walked the bases loaded. We won because miggy hit long ball in the 10th. But hey we won!!! Thanks
Man this Rodney crap has to end..The guy is as much of a head case as Dontrelle..I Would rather take my chances with e Zoom, then this guy, and I don't care what he has saved this season, 90% of the time this guy is todd jones with less control...
Enough is enough already!!!!!!
Dont look now, but the Cleveland Indians/Columbus Clippers are out of the cellar!! Next stop: First place!!!
Verlander goes tonight against Danks
This is the ONE team Verlander definatly struggles against... could be a rough night, hope the bats come with him.
Yea it's called GM needs to trade one of them for a bat
Lets talk about that for a minute. After Verlander and Jackson, the rotation is a little iffy. Porcello is only 20 yrs. old. Galarraga may be a one season wonder. That brings us to the fifth spot, which is currently in the arms of Willis and Bonderman. In the bullpen we have two more starters in Robertson and Miner.(Miner is the better of the two in my opinion.) We have to hold on to at least one left handed starter. My point is that one can never have enough pitching. at some point somebody is going on the DL.
So lets talk about bats. Which position do we trade for? The heart of the hitting problem lies in the top half of the line-up. Magg's has seemed to have lost his power stroke, Granderson has found a power stroke, but is not hitting doubles and triples like he used to. And Polanco is off to a slow start as well.
In Magg's case, Clete Thomas has been filling in well, and is a lefty too boot, with decent pop in his bat. Polanco and Granderson are going nowhere. Marcus Thames has just returned to the team, and a healthy Guillen would certainly help things also. Inge is hitting pretty well, and Everett and Santiago are leading the league in RBI's from the SS position. Laird is a trade-off for his defense. He leads the league in throwing runners out. Anderson has provided speed at the top of the line-up when he plays.
I'm not being argumentative, I agree we need some hitting right now, and I've asked myself the same question - what position? Maybe you have an idea I haven't thought of.
Yea that is my problem too, I do not know where..Surely there is some GM out there who is off of his rocker and thinks that mags just needs a change of scene??? Hahaha, just wishful thinking..
I think Magglio would be fine if he would be more patient at the plate..He swings at the first pitch WAY TOO much.. Thames has never been consistent enough for my tastes..
Thomas? Just not completely sold on him yet..If it does work out and he could become a 20 homer/20 steal guy, with his arm and Defense, it would be great and work for me..
Anderson although not a stud, is a game changer and SHOULD be our everyday LF'er and leadoff guy, he cannot get better at the plate until he gets more AB's...
Polanco is probably gone after this season, Lets see what we can get for him? I dont kow just throwing that out there.Everett has been a pleasant surprise for sure, I am happy with him now..Just hope he keeps it up, but with Santiago there with him its a nice thing going on at SS they are driving in runs..
I dont know either man, I just know we need some hitting..
As for the 5th spot..I dont know Willis looked good last night for a time, then not.. I did like the fire they showed last night, him especially, and to be fair, Bondo had not pitched at this level since Last june, so we need more time with him..I just dont want these central teams to get stronger while we sit back and not counter...

With all the focus on family and the Wings, I've had very little time for the Tigers since I've been back. Anyway, Verlander is throwing a great game this evening. It does not help that we have so many pitchers, locked in to long term $$$ deals
