AL Central 2010

What do they say, win your home games and .500 on the road and your good ?

Tigers are not all that bad on the road, but I do suggest they start winning more on the road as they are playing much better teams around the corner.

Quick look shows the Tigers are 25-11 at home and 13-19 on the road.

Tigers next road trip is 9 games long with 3 in NY (Mets), Atlanta and Minnesota.

At the end of those 9 we should know a bit more about these Tigers.
It's a tail of two Tigers (yes, my puns amuse me...if no one else). Anyway, the Tigers play like champs at home and chumps on the road...13-19 ain't gonna win the division. We have to start playing .500 ball.

Its probably because of their butt ugly road uniforms. Gray with Detroit in cursive? Come on, that's the best you can come up with? Put the Old English D on there! Use some more blue and orange! Maybe add a tiger even. Anything would be better than what they got now.

Didn't I say that ?

They can't do away with the road jersey, BUT, they could make up a Third Jersey as some do.
I too would like to see a Blue and Orange combination .

They normally have the city name on the road jersey, always, probably a rule.
I think the third jersey is only to be used at home, I know the Red Sox have a third jersey they wear, I'll have to check and see if it's home only.

After a quick search, there are alternative ROAD jerseys.

I would like to see the Tigers with one !

Probably...but I'm sure we'll be repeating this time-and-time again until they start winning on the road. As much as I enjoyed the Tigers taking 2 of 3 at home against the Diamondbacks, this weekends star belongs to the Twinkies (OK, perhaps a barnacle encrusted Minnesota Northstar to rub a little salt into the wound) for taking 2 of 3 on-the-road against a tough Philly team. I know it's a bit early to stress-out over a road series, but the upcoming series at the NY Mets, Atlanta Braves and the TC Twinkies is huge IMO! If we don't win at least 4 of the 9 games then changes are probably in order if we're to win the division. We have not won consistently on the road the past couple seasons and our 13-19 road record won't cut it. Again, this is a huge series against three very good teams. We had better be focused and ready to play ball.;)

I'm hoping for 5-4 :)

I just read about the possibility of them picking up a shortstop, depending on how they do in the upcoming games.
No names were given.

Big stretch coming up for the Tigers, I guess from here on out they all are :)

Though our local media here is amazing, two weeks ago they had this team ready for the scrap heap, today articles are talking about there the best thing since sliced bread. I guess thats the media for you :D regardless, with summer offically starting today, it should be a good one and thats all you can ask for for summer baseball

This upcoming 9-game road trip really has me concerned since the Tigers are a different team playing away from Comerica. I just noticed the Mets are very similar as they have an outstanding 24-10 record at home, but are less-than-stellar on the road. I just hope we're not 5-6 games given our play on the road. Anyway, it's time for vereran players, like Damon, to step forward and provide the leadership needed to win the tough series. We shall see...

I'll take 5-4 or better ....:)

Anything worse is gonna be BAD

A quick peek show the Twins also with 9 games before the end of the month against the Brewers and the Mets and a Home series with the Tigers. :D

We need 6-3 here and definitely 2 out of 3 against the Twins. If you're going to be a contender, you have to play like a contender.

I hope the triple A magic works for Porcello. Everybody who has been sent back there has been transformed into a great pitcher so far.

First time through the lineup, I am not worried about the offense, we typically do well against lefties, but Justin just pitches stupid when he is up 0-2 or 1-2, its so irritating.

WEEI's Dennis and Callahan to be simulcast live on NESN

Don't look now, but Steve Lavin is making St. John's relevant again
