Did anyone notice on yesterdays game the "blocking and artifacts" with the picture? I was switching back and forth between Dish and my local HD broadcast and the picture was horrible on satellite compared to over the air. Just wondering if Dish was doing there HD-lite thing to this channel?

I get the Dish CBS-HD East feed from the 61.5 satellite and also think that the quality has be noticeably worse over the past month or so, including the Steelers-Broncos game this past Sunday. It used to be that CBS-HD football games were the best picture quality available on my setup (811 and Samsung 56" DLP) but since before the college bowl games I also consistently see motion 'blocking and artifacts' (or whatever the correct term is) and overall quality is now clearly worse than on ESPN-HD. To me this has been a much more serious decline in quality than I can see on the Voom channels.

I agree with you tconelly. CBS-HD picture was unbelievable not so long a go. It was even better than my over the air picture. Now it looks like crap.
I was watching the game when it started and could not believe the blocking and the artifacts. At first I thought it was my TV, but I switched to my antenna feed and it was fine. Dish needs to do something about the picture quality on their HD channels before I decide to upgrade to their new packages. And I don't think that we should have to pay TWICE for the same programing, ESPN,TNT,CBS, ABC, ETC.... maybe a little more but not at the new pricing that they are proposing.

I can't agree with you. I don't see any noticeable difference in CBS-HD off 61.5 compared to ESPNHD when both are showing "HD" content. Yes, CBS is worse then it was, but not worse than any of the other "HD-Lite" channels and I am not seeing any of the artifacts you are talking about. I will agree that it is worse than HDNet and the rest of the still full resolution channels though.

I am using a 211 receiver now and did not have CBS-HD feed when I had my 921.

Edit: remember guys (the last I saw and this could be dated now) is that VOOM and CBS were having technical problems with the feeds so the signals got down rezzed. The new channels (non-voom) are due to be in full resolution like HDnet etc.

Wirenut, you saw the post in pub members area about Voom right? The one from scott?
