The AF1 I purchased from a well know satellite dealer on Ebay has bubble(s) in the inclinometer. The seller has indicated that he is investigating whether or not that affects operation. I am concerned that there could be a slow leak and that it will get worse over time. I don't know for sure if it will affect accuracy. The compass is OK.

Can an experienced knowledgeable installer or user give me a professional opinion on this please? I'm not looking for opinions - - everyone got one of those. :D Thank You.

Bubbles can and (eventually) will affect the reliability of your inclinometer. Think about it...the bubbles will slow down and block the spinning motion of each (EL or AZ) wheel. Worse, if it is leaking, it will eventually not even move at all (no liquid medium for it to situate onto).

there should be one small bubble inside the dial..Multiple bubbles indicate air is getting into the inclinometer dial..This will indeed effect performance...Do not use the instrument for close tolerances..Eventually the instrument will become usless..

Thanks. I've got 4 bubbles so it must be defective. Have you seen more than one AF1 and did they all have a single bubble in the inclinometer? It must be small as I don't see it on any net images.
