Advice on Buying a projector

As stated above, save a little money for a bulb... one member here puts a couple of dollars in a coffee can every time he use's his projector...
I have about 490 hours on my Mitsubitsi HD1000U and am loving it even more every day... (I do need to get a bulb for my X1 it replaced)

So in other words the brightness in the cheaper projectors drowns out the image quality?

Actually, I would say that the lumens for all the sub $1K PJs are fairly similar and they all achieve similar results. If you have only dealt with office PJs in the past, you will be pleasantly surprised by the performance of these new 720p home theatre PJs. The Mitsubishi HD1000u is getting a lot of good press but equal to the task are several other good machines. Now is a great time to go Front Projection at home!
