Adding new RG6 runs to existing house

I'm sure you wife would really say NFW if she had an idea of the havoc a botched wall fish can deliver. A slightly bothersome cable run on the exterior of the house is better than tearing our your drywall to replace severed wires, etc.

experience with people that come here from DirecTV to do something extra is they try to rip me off..
I can't say that about our local installer,we always get the same guy,and he's real honest.Always hooks me up!! Any INFO about Directv he has givin me has always been true. Can't say that about Directv's customer service department.

I dont use local installers usually (I do have one coming saturday to install a new slimline) but when i recommended hiring someone i meant an electrician not an installer.

Fortunately, I know a good electrician, but in my home in SC, the electrician (new construction, totally different electrician) used twist on connectors... so they're not the easiest to have faith in either. Connectors were so bad, I had to open each wallplate, and replace them or I got absolutely 0 signal.....

Well I did something similar about 2 weeks ago.

I have a sitting area off of my master bedroom were my PC's are at & were my DSL is. Now I needed to get down to my first floor as well, & fortunately the wall where the entertainment center is, is where the air intake is for my A/C on the first floor. So I went up into my attic from my sitting area & then across to the large intake hose ehivh about 18 inches in diameter & cut a small hole. I then dropped 2 runs of RG6 & one CAT6 all the way down to my first floor. Then I took off the cover on the intake downstairs & made another small hole & put the wall plate directly below. It looks like it came with the house, because luckily for me, the low voltage wall plate is perfectly lined up with the normal 120 outlet about a foot away.

Now I suspect that you would probably have to do some runs once you got down to the first floor, but at least this way, all the cables are inside your house.
