I have a Samsung SIR-Ts360 Hi Def receiver that works great. I have a Channel Plus modulator that I use to broadcast a different TiVo receiver to a channel throughout my house which works fine on all other TVs everywhere except on this Samsung receiver.

I think it is because the satellite downloads local Over The Air info. for my area and of course my channel isn't going to show.

Any suggestions on how I can "add" this channel to the receiver? The manual really didn't help at all.

The only thing I can think to do is to put my channel on top of a channel that the receiver thinks I should get and hopefully there will not be too much interference. The guide would be wrong but I can live with that.

Any other ideas?

Does that receiver have an analog (NTSC) tuner? I haven't looked it up but I would guess it just has a digital (ATSC) tuner. Your modulator is an NTSC analog modulator, meaning it puts out an analog RF signal, whereas your Samsung is looking for ATSC digitally modulated streams.

Yes it does have analog tuner, you can search channels for analog and digital. It is pretty seamless after you set it up. It dials into DirecTV and uploads digital and analog channel assignments for your area before it scans airwaves and even moves the digital channels to the analog locations. For example, for me Channel 3 is NBC so I have three "channel 3s" : SAT, ANALOG, DIGITAL.

Anyway- back to topic!

Hmm, maybe your modulator (I'm assuming it's an agile modulator) is set to one of the cable modes (Standard, IRC, or HRC)? Of course, it probably should be UHF depending on the Samsung's capabilities and the other analog stuff you're wanting to bring in. :) I can't think of anything else at the moment.

To help troubleshoot it, maybe connect the modulator's RF out directly into the antenna input of the Samsung if you haven't already tried that (bypass your distribution system).
