I'm converting the garage and will want a TV there. The cable from the dish is exposed right now, wondering if I can split the line that feeds the Hopper like one would do for cable or do I need a different switch. Currently have a HWS and a Joey, may add another HWS, not sure yet. But do want another outlet.

I think you need a node and switch to make that work and getting a second HWS Will get you up to 6 tuners okay.

You can not just split the line. It will make the most sense for you to do a "Dishing it up" and get it professionally installed, possibly for free. You will need a "Duo-node", Which runs $50, if you want to buy the 2nd Hopper($250), plus additional wiring from the dish.

You could just add another Joey and you can split the line that goes to that, but not the line that runs from the dish to the Hopper. but again, have it professionally done, much less headache.

you will need to run the new cable to where the current node is, or put the dual node in the garage and run new cable from there to the current TV locations.

Subscribing to HBO for GoT ?
