I recently upgraded my 6000 receiver to a VIP 622 HD DVR. The installer repointed one dish to pick up the HD satellite. This was an old 500 dish with a dual legacy LNB with two cables running from the dish. My second 500 dish is pointing at the other two satellites and has a new LNB, a Dish Pro Plus I believe. One cable from the HD dish is running to the DPP dish and two cables are coming out to the 622 (with a splitter at the receiver) and a legacy 4900 (upgraded 4700) upstairs.
As far as I understand it, the legacy 4900 is working because one line is connected to the 622, so with this setup I should be able to connect an old 2900 I have lying around. Is this correct?
So, if I split one of the two outputs from the DPP I can run a line to the 2900?
The 2900 has a blue card in it, I assume I'll need to get a new yellow card from dish when I activate it?
My TiVo doesn't play well with the 622, so i want to add the 2900 just for the TiVo.
Thanks in advance for the help
