I have a pro brand superjack ball screw 24"
and a von weiss (about 22"). Both are losing the
count.
I think the Superjack is no longer in business and I can't get parts.
Don't know where to get parts for the Von Weiss.
If I could, I don't know if I have the smarts to fix it.

Could it be the Uniden sq530 receiver, that I am using as a pusher,
that is bad and causing the count failure or 2 bad actuators?

Should I just junk both and get a Venture 24"?
Thanks for any help.

Is the condition of the Wires?
Are the Ball Joints, are they in good condition and tight?
Is the Mount is good condition and tight?

Thank for for responding Lak7.
To the best of my knowledge, the answer to your
questions is yes.
Both actuators are quite old and so is the Uniden pusher.

I have another uniden that I could replace the older Uniden
and see if that improves things. If it does then the problem is
the Uniden.

The Ventura 24" actuator is rather expensive but the specs look good.
There is another animal on the market that doesn't give a lot of specs.
"24" Powermax" for $25 to $50. In the picture it looks flimsy.
Have no idea how many lbs it will push.
Opinions welcome

Doesn't anybody know how they can make the Powermax 7 times cheaper
than the Ventura? Both are 24". I see the Powermax for sale on Ebay.

Maybe a bit off topic, but I noticed our city's solar collectors use Venture actuators.

Thanks for replying toucan-man.
That's probably what I am going to have to do.
Something as cheap as the PowerMax has to be lacking somewhere.
The old saying: if it's to good to be true watch out.
