Called in to Activate my 622 and was told that the office that does that is closed until monday??

Also, when setting up the unit I can't get past the Phone Line/Broadband check screen. (sorry don't have either near unit - cell phone only). Is there a way around it or will that be corrected upon activation.

tks.

Call back, if this is for a commercial account asked for the commercial department. I think once you get the authorization it will get pass the phone line check.

Business and administrative departments don't work on weekends. Only call centers do. Commercial and Showroom are (kind of but not really) subsections of Retail Services, they won't be in until Monday.

From what I have heard from a friend of mine, Dish is upgrading one of their major systems (software) and a lot of what they would normally be able to do is down this weekend but will be back up and running on Monday morning.

OP- That does not make sense to me. My Dish 1000 + with a 722 and 322 were installed exactly 2 weeks ago on Sunday.

I was able to get a CSR everytime - I was not able to activate right away due to their system being down. I also thought that you could activate the receiver over the automated phone setup - there is definitely an option that says "to activate your new receiver press ...".

Call 1-800-333-DISH - that is how I eventually activated that very same Sunday evening. Good luck.

The office that activates????? I always get mine activated using tech support and I think they are there 24/7, and they speak ENGLISH!!!!!!!:)

I also found this number, when I tried it, a voice prompt said "Thanks for calling the receiver activation line ....". I hung up but you could try this one:

Excuse me.That is an installer hot line and is not to be used by customers.
Attention mods could you please delete any posts where this phone number apppears. Thanks.

It's just a group of CSR's that get paid an extra $1.00/hr. Now if we're gonna be hostile, let's pass around some good phone numbers, like Retail Services for instance.

Nope, they have to put a bypass on your account. The part that really sucks is that your only real option is the landline. You can hookup the broadband but it will not recognize until you go to the broadband menu and reset the connection. Being you can't get past the 587 screen to get to this menu it doesn't do much good.

Maybe they will realize this and fix it in a future update.

I this is not personal .It's business. And when people publicize numbers that should not be public it effects my business.

dishcoom is right. it is business. the workers on the w/o mod lines and dlr act lines are there just for that. the techs in the field need these lines as open as possible so they can get on to their next job quicker.

The number that was removed was on a dish network web page under "My Account". Go under "Activate receiver" in your account and click on that URL. If you have no receivers to activate, it showed that phone number. I am not sure why this number was removed (since it is available publicly). Not all phone numbers are installer numbers here :p
