My brother-in-laws mother recently canceled her Dish Network subscription and received a letter wanting her to return several things to Dish. They want her to return the receiver, DP34 switch, and the LNB's from her Dish. Is this normal policy when canceling?

I understand sending the receiver back, but the Dish and the switch are both mounted on the roof and she's a elderly lady that does not need to be on the roof.

that is normal. if she is unable to get on the roof she needs to call dish and explain this to them i would guess they will send some one out to collect the equipment that she is unable to get off of the roof.

It's clearly spelled out on the back of the agreement she signed when Dish installed her equipment / service. That, of course, doesn't mean it's written in stone that it's followed....

This is for the leased equipment deals. Those of us who bought our equiptment outright get to keep it with the possible exception of the access cards. That always belongs to Dish.

See ya

Tell her to just call.. Dish in many cases will tell you just to send the receiver back if you are unable to climb on the roof to retrieve any dish parts. The are pretty decent in most cases if you are nice and explain the situation.

Smokey-
Send an email to the CEO address that can be found in many posts here on the site.

I sent them an email about the same thing when I cancelled - and they responded and coded my account properly so that I wouldn't be penalized for not sending back the LNB's and switch.

Hell, i'm only 33 - but wasn't going up on any roof for that!
They were very nice about it.

using directv dish for dishnet

PQ improvement?
