I have changed batteries in DSR920 and Dsr4200 but not DSR922. The trick is to bridge old battery with new and then remove old. If the battery is dead then the receiver can only be restored to partial condition and map master is used to get maps back and will work on music channels and as a dish mover. I restored one receiver this way.
