Well, I would have thought the Earth has spun out of its orbit around the Sun.
Its' a first for me to see the self anointed "Guru", purveyor of "TV Predictions" in the Cable/Satellite industries, and Shill for DirecTV (amongst others), has suggested DirecTV subs churn to other providers, over the Versus retransmission skirmish.
For several years "Swanni" has Shilled for DVD-HD, DirecTV, and purposely dissed other providers. Every year he posts predictions, which in many cases never happen, then after the fact changes or does a rewrite of his predictions, to then champion his "Pulse" and insight on the industry.
My Favorite was his prediction that DVD-HD, and Blu-Ray would settle their differences by coming out with a combination player (Never Happened), but that didn't stop "SWANNI" from telling us all "Told you so" when Blu-Ray won the format war, as Swanni goes on by saying, "I saw this coming and predicted the end of the two competing against each other". The Big problem is he was completely wrong with the details.
I'm very glad satelliteguys is around for a neutral website that doesn't shill for specific players. Scott and most of the rest of the satelliteguys are genuinely concerned about the entire industry, and mostly side with us customers.
Personally, I'm sad DirecTV has removed a Channel because of a retransmission fight. I see this a sign of the future. With DirecTV now playing hardball in the retransmission negotiations more and more third party providers will likely follow suit.
