I thought this would work.

2 lines from Sat input 1 right to box.

input 2 to SAT of diplexor, 1 RJ6 from diplexor1 ANT ran to TV2

Comined side of diplexor to single side of Diplexor2. Sat part of Diplexor 2 to 942 input 2. Ant side of Diplexor2 to RF out of 942 (TV2 output)

I get the siganl on TV2 but lost SAT signal. I ran check switch no luck. Do I need a DC block somewhere?

Chas

What are you trying to do?

Standard set up for a backfeed from the 942 would be something like...

From wall plate: one line to single port on diplexer.
Sat side of diplexer to separator.
Separator to each sat input.
TV2 output to UHF side of diplexer.

Outside: Diplexer single side to 942.
Line from dish to sat port.
Line from room to wish to backfeed to on UHF port.

If you have 2 lines from the dish at your outlet then you don't need the separator but the diplexers have to go on the same line.

If you're trying to send both TV outputs down the backfeed you can combine the signals with a 2 way splitter before going back into the diplexer at the receiver.

I am trying to share 942 with a TV in another room. Both lines from Dish are ran to 942. In my attick is the cable that runs to TV2 and both SAT feeds. I spliced into SAT feed 2 and put it into the diplexor. I put the cable ran to TV 2 into the same diplexor.

behind 942 I have the cable that connects to the diplexor in the attic. I put diplexor2 on by connecting the wall line (was sat input 2 and now diplexed) I ran a cable back to the 942 inout2 and ran the uhf out from 942 into the diplexor. It works except I lost sat input2. It does not see the sat?

Not sure I understand either. The 942 will feed the second TV and comes with two remotes (see set-up) Output from 942 would go back up to attic to feed second TV if that is the way you feed it. No splitter needed for it. One line from OTA antenna, if that is what you have to 942. One or two lines feed dual turners on 942. Mine was installed with only one line and then split at DVR. This help?

Yes you have the diplexor in the attic backwards.

should look like this

Sat in - - Sat out to receiver -
- in/out to receiver -- in/out to receiver -
Ant in or TV2 out - - Ant out to receiver or TV2 in -

You have the Diplexor setup wrong.

Diplexor in attic setup should be. Sat line in to "sat" on diplexor, TV2 output is on the "ANT" side of the diplexor. THe in/out of the diplexor goes to the Reciver. On the other end by the receiver you should have to line coming from the in/out of the diplexor in the attic go into the in/out of the diplexor behind the receiver. The sat side of the diplexor plugs into the Receiver input. The TV2 out from the receiver plugs into the ANT on the diplexor.

Nope,

I had it wired right. I went got a DC block and term'd it on the diplexor in the attic off the ant input, ran check switch and walla I am up and running. Thanks to all who attempted to figure it out!

that doesn't make sense at all, i have been diplexing and backfeeding dual tuner recievers since they came out, and i have never had to use a DC block. as long as the diplexers are hooked up correctly

from reading your first post, did you back feed your sat input to itself??? dc block makes no difference if you hooked it up right.

"Comined side of diplexor to single side of Diplexor2. Sat part of Diplexor 2 to 942 input 2. Ant side of Diplexor2 to RF out of 942 (TV2 output"

yes, the single sides conncect together.
but the Sat part of diplexer2 runs to your lnb.
Antenna side of diplexor2 runs to your secondary tv

yeah, sounds like the diplexer behind your tv is backwards, if I read your post right. In/Out connects to In/Out on the diplexer's. behind your tv, SAT to rcvr input, ANT to tv2. From IN/OUT on d1, run to IN/OUT on d2. d2 SAT to LNB, ANT to secondary tv.

clear as mud :)
