942, composite cables and HD channels?

Just replaced my 942 with a 622. Deactivated the 942 and waiting for my empty box. Still on the fence about returning the 942 for the $200 credit. My question is will the HD channels show up using composite cables on a non HD set? I'm guessing they'll show up "downrezzed" to 480i? Would like to find out before I go through the trouble of getting it reactivated.

that's exactly what i have, But make sure you set the 480i on your 942 first or you wont be able to see anything on the non-hd set. I also set the aspect ratio to 4x3#2. Oh and of course it works fine.

No. I'm leasing it. The reason I'm on the fence is I want to purchase an HD LCD for the bedroom and Dish is only leasing 1 622 per customer at this time.
