811 strech modes and OTA

If I leave my DISH HD pack channels in "Normal" mode and then switch to one my OTA channels, it stays in "Normal" mode(black bars) instead of stretch mode.

It seems it only happens on 02-01, 04-01, 05-01, 07-01 (cbs, nbc, fox, abc)
Some of these channels have -02, but it stays streched on -02 channels.

Strangely, it doesnt happen on the higher OTA channels,
31-01, 40-01, 53-01 all come in stretched like it supposed to.

Hate having to switch the strech mode when switching between OTA and HD channels.
BTW, the DISH SD channels always stay stretched like they're supposed.

Any ideas why this happens....?

Yeah... I do. The 811 remembers the stretch mode for your HD stations and your SD stations separately. Some of your OTA channels are being interpreted as HD and some as SD.

I get the same thing here in Dallas.

some HD content is not in widescreen! like snathanb said, your 811 receiver remembers that you normally watch HD channels in normal and SD channels in stretch. Some times if you have HBO HD you can turn to it in between movies and it will have the black bars, its just because not all HD (digital) broadcast are in wide screen.
