ok, boys, here's the "sitch"...
(and i'm quite the novice at the stuff) i have a benq 7800 projector that worked fine with voom (6 months) and direct tv (2 days). i recently converted to dish network (because of the voom add-ons) and cannot get the signal from the 811 recvr to the benq. no matter how short or long i run the rbg cables nothing shows up. the best an installer dude could get was a double image. we switched out the 811 with another one and got the same thing. but the projector works perfect with a sony dvd player through the same rgb cable run. any troubleshooting advice?

thanks, man.

If you have the PE7800, make sure you are using the BNC input connectors.
The component RCA jacks are for 480i only. In the display menu, select Comp-HD for your signal source.

the 3 rgb coax cables are in the y Pb Pr slots on both the recvr and projector. the cables run about 45 feet and i tested a shorter 6 foot rgb cable directly from the recvr to projector but got the same thing. i've had 3 dish installers come out and they're all stumped.

Welcome to SatelliteGuys!

I unfortunately don't know anything about your projector. I can tell you that the 811 default HD output is 480p. (menu-6-1-9 to change)

From looking at your projector specs it appears that ats7627 is correct. The "y Pb Pr" rca jacks are 480i only since that's what the online (PDF) manual says.

RCA Component input (YCbCr): RCA x 3 (480i)

You'll need to go with DVI or BNC component connection for 480p, 720p or 1080i.

When in doubt... read the manual.

thanks, jim

i'll try the reconnect.

i told you i was quite the novice at this stuff. by the way, what's a manual?

Any Reason to have a warranty on a leased 942?
