I need to install SWM dish in a bar. The dish will be on the roof 800 feet/49 floors up. There will be a total of 10 tuners. there's an rg-11 that already runs down but from what i remember (haven't done installs in 2 years) since I need 10 tuners I would need 4 lines coming down to a swm-16. I need to know what do I need from the LNB to the swm-16. I know I need a Polarity locker? and the signal needs to be attenuated so what do i use to boost the signal and at what intervals should they be installed.

to Satelliteguys nyprdr!I don't think even RG11 is going to help you at 800 ft. I'm sure one of the installers will post soon with some more hands on advice.
You're gonna need an MDU installer here. SWM amps and all for 800 feet, I'd suggest calling directv and letting then handle it. It's gonna be the cheapest possible way for you
Cost is not an issue and this is in Manhattan. No Directv technician would be allowed do any work in this building. Also I know it can be done since I've done it with a KaKu a few years back. We were able to get 4 lines down about 600' with perfect signal using some type of signal booster I just don't remember what it was and a polarity locker (not too sure if that's the exact name) to lock the LNB and keep it from switching and also powers the LNB so that you don"t have to send voltage all the way up the line. So all I need to know is what do use for attenuation. Also i was a tech for 8 years so if you're a twch you should know Directv can't help for anything. I forgot to mention I have the system working somewhat (goes out in the rain) using that rg-11 off of a SWM dish using 5 tuners.

I've never attempted anything near that far.
Voltage drop will be an issue in addition to signal loss, both will have to be overcome.
Rg11 solid copper should be a must have for these runs.
An in-line amp to carry signal and regulate voltage should "theoretically" do it. Also make sure whatever you use will carry the higher frequencies & space them around 175' or so.

holy crap thats a haul....I know we dont have 800 feet here at the apartment complex but I know some lines have to run a good 500 feet. They use these amplifiers
That's why I said MDU, this is all they do. Nothing personal but if you was a tech for 8 years you should know MDU does this. Everything from manhattan to Vegas casinos. This is all they know

SWM was designed to take MDU's place. All the new hotels and highrise buildings use SWM now. Thanks to the guys who actually gave input. I would research this myself but I have to figure out how to setup a 100" TV inside some guys shower without the glass fogging up. and I need to order what I need for the directv stuff by tomorrow night
