I didn't get much but I did get a partial set up and was wondering where I could locate the remaining parts I need to get this thing working.
I need a mount and the four (4) bolts that hold it together and the half moon top thingy (techie term) that holds the LNB on.
Anyone have parts source for these items?
There was no LNB with the dish, I plan to get an Invacom-which one?
Thanks

the lnb holder is a feedhorn thats made for the dish
you could use a conduit clamp or pipe clamp from most hardware stores for a couple of bucks

bolts to the mount can also be found at most hardware stores

That looks like a Starband, was dish reception along with 2 way internet, now you're old primestar lnb with its feed will bolt right to it, but don't think that a prime mount will fit that dish but it may.

I have and am using a Starband.

I have and am using a Starband as a FTA setup.
It is the 129 model with the D*net bracket for 110/119 and 2 unlabeled legacy LNB's.

The reflector is a CM 75e.
The mount pipe is OD 2 1/4" IIRC

It's the LNB setup that different (or in this case missing)
The only thing that worries me is that he doesn't have a Feedhorn it seems.
I don't think I would get as good reception with out it.

As for the LNB this dish originally uses a C120 Flange and takes just 2 Screws to mount the flange to the arm.
Do not hesitate to use something else, like Gabsphere pointed out.
OR order this at the same time as your arm: Channel*Master*LNBF*Dual Polarity

I might need to order one of those dual polarity LNBF.
Having a single pol. isn't quite as nice.

Pretty much any linear lnb with a 40mm throat will do. An old Superdish FSS lnb will bolt up to the c120 feedhorn flange. If you're going to use it as a fixed dish, some angle iron, and a Superdish skewplate are easy enough to attach for a mount.

I am beginning to question if the length of the arm I got is correct. When I rescued the dish from the pile of other size dishes, the one and only arm there was the one I picked up.
Was it the correct one. I don't know. Does anyone what the length arm a 75e dish uses?
Thanks

Nope. No sticker. It does have the numbers 3040979-04 stamped in the piece that supports the LNB.
It measured out 19 1/16 inches. Close enough to be the one?

The old arm I have just says 3040979 and has a 5S in the corner and a sticker that says for 75e only and something about the feedhorn type. So I would guess you have the right one

I am reconsidering my restoration plans for the 75e. The Channel Master LNBF Dual Polarity interests me. Especially the price and apparent ease of mounting compared to an Invacom. Pro/Cons?
In the interest of full disclosure, I am going to put off motorizing the 75e for now and point it at 123.0 west.

Pros:
C120 Flange for 75e captures all and only the 75e reflector space
Voltage switched dual polarity (works perfect with all FTA receivers)
No more fuss in aiming (and accidentally moving the dish off of what little signal you had while rotating the lnb; been there, done that)

Cons:
Too heavy to mount on other dishes. You bought it for this dish and it will stay on this dish.
Flange is huge. (on my 75e the closest I can get a lnbf [for another sat] is 6 degrees using a Geosatpro UL1)
Single output compared to some of the Invacom's

If you would need to run more than one receiver off of the dish, you could always remove the LNB from the C-120 flanged feedhorn and replace it with a stacked Dish FSS LNB. Once you have that C-120 flange and proper feedhorn, a variety of possibilities are open to you.

If you look around your area, and if you advertise for anyone wanting to get rid of old Primestar and Channel Master dishes you WILL come across some great find-----some FREE: "Just get it out of my yard!"
I have come across several dishes (plus C Band too!) and still looking.

Thanks for the input regarding the CM LNBF. Decisions, decisions.

It seems that neither Primestar nor Channel Master were used here in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I posted a wanted ad on both Craigs list and Freecycle but no joy.

A member here did put me on to a source on the east coast and ride over there last week yielded the 75e dish and arm. No LNB or mount. I am still looking.

Btw, there was a nice looking 1.2 meter dish over there. No arms, lnb or mount that I could see.
