Honestly, too much hassle. Just call Dish, have them install their kangaroo garbage for free, sign another 2 year agreement and be done with it.
I love my kangaroo garbage...aka Hopper 3
If it only had a few more tuners.....

Save yourself the hassle and money trying to piece together a system on eBay.
If your worried about a contract, the cancellation fee will likely be less than what you spent on eBay and your time messing about it.
Besides, contracts can easily be gotten out of without penalty.
Your 722 is obsolete. Do you really want to own something that will be obsolete one day, or lease something they are responsible for fixing and you can ship back when it eventually goes obsolete. .
If you think Dish equipment is "kangaroo garbage" then you must of never used a Directv Genie. My grandmother moves faster than that.
I'm curious why he doesn't want Dish to be involved with upgrading him since it would probably be minimal, if any cost and definitely done the right way
If Dish receivers are garbage, What the HECK does that make DTV's stuff?I love my kangaroo garbage...aka Hopper 3

I talked to him in PM. He's in CanadaMaybe not.
Canadians don’t connect their equipment to the phone line or internet for fear of being discovered they reside in CANADA.
sling adaptor requires internet, so I would rule this out unless this person doesn’t know better.
You are a gentleman and a scholar; you are far too polite. I think we all know it is "SAT" in 1 or 2, not "TV" (in addition TV would refer to the RF Out of some old DishPro SD STB's). But you have demonstrated paitience beyond the call of duty for dealing with someone who seems not to want to stop believeing in unicorns. .That would be a separator, not splitter.
My memory dims, but is it TV1 & TV2, or Sat 1 and Sat 2?
Sent from my iPhone using SatelliteGuys App. For now.

He broke the #1 rule about having Dish or Directv.
DO NOT CONNECT THE PHONE LINE OR INTERNET.
Sorry for being a moron, I was just asking for help, won’t happen again and I should have known better. Thanks to those that were polite. You are a gentleman and a scholar; you are far too polite.
