My Dish 722k receiver just suddenly goes to a black screen & about a minute or two later goes through the rebooting process. Began happening a few weeks ago and occurs every few days. Any idea why?

Yes, please contact Dirt. If no one is on line at the time, just wait a while. Seems lately a lot of people get impatient, then call a CSR and have mixed or less results, then come here to complain about it. DIRT!.

A trick you can try as well. Disconnect the coaxial cables and the power cable. Leave unplugged thirty minutes(not sure why but it works), then plug the power back in. Once it reboots to complete sig loss. Unplug again, and plug coaxial in. then plug power back in. Purges any static build up.

Have you checked your hard drive temps?

Dish416,

I wanted to check in with you to see if the issue with the black screen and rebooting is still happening. Did you try the steps provided here on Sat Guys?

If so and the issue is still happening, you will want to get that receiver replaced. Please PM me with the phone and 4 digit PIN to better help you.

Thanks

I don't know about static, but I do know that it will clear out your switch check matrix if you run a check switch run with the sat cables not connected. I used to have to do this on my 722k and 211k receivers ,if I switched from one arc to the other.

Err, no. It clears the switch matrix and resets it.

But I would try it anyway.

Not if you don't run the cst. If you do what I said, and then go to point dish(check switch) then you will still see the original satellites. If you save the cst with them unhooked, then you would see the 836 message and save zero satellites.
