Like many others I had the random "no skip back" problem with the 175 s/w.

On my two 721's I still have the same s/w but the "skip back" feature now works 100% of the time...strange! :yes

Was there an unofficial, unnumbered s/w fix?

Has anyone else noticed this?

Now, if they could only do this type fix with the NBR which Charlie promised...

Uh Oh, that is the first step to becoming self-aware. Sounds like you got a SkyNet update! :)

My old 721 did the same thing and one day it started working for no reason that I could find.

Also, I don't remember anything more than Charlie Banter (no promises) on the 721 getting NBR. So, don't hold your breath.

I think that the problem was some sort of incompatibility between the program stream and the 721. They probably cleaned up the program stream.

I had no problems skipping back on programs recorded a few months ago. That leads me to believe that something changed in the programs.

I am not totally convinced that 175 had anything to do with the problem.

BTW, my 721 seems to be working fine now. I think it is just as probable that changes were made to the program stream around the same time as 175 was released, causing it to appear that the problem was in the new software

As much as I want to blame the software programmers for that bug I do think it had something to do with the way they were compressing the programming (video) signal. I think they were doing something different and found that it was screwing things up.

522 and dvd recorder?

Hard drive swapping between 942's??
