USALS, at least in the STAB HH90 manual and the STAB website is meant to rotate the dish +-65 degrees from the origin. So depending on your location, if you try to point to a location that is more that the 65 degrees, it will not do anything. I am located at 71.7 W, and in the SV4K menu, if I select a satellite between 71.7-65 and 71.7+65 (6.7W and 136.7), when I ask USALS to go to sat position, it moves the dish to some position near by (my setup is currently not perfect, so it often misses the high point). To setup a sat beyond -+65, I use the same process that you outlines, but with the Motor option as opposed to USALS

I managed to properly align the elevation and azimuth of my installation, and I am currently blind-scanning for FTA channels in clear. I am now able to get almost all the satellites and I currently have 900 channels (still blind-scanning after 500 minutes)

Dear Members,
I have a coolsat 6000 with a 81 cm dish ,and a Moteck SG2100 motor
my latitude is 26
my longitude is 81
can anyone tell me how to find the closest
satellite to my location, so that I can try to
align my system ?

James there is a chart at LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite, click on north america and you will see all the sats listed for NA with their orbital positions. Pick one closest to your longitude, which in your case would prob be AMC2 at 82degrees.
Theres color bars up usually at 12195 Horiz , though at this moment I can't seem to pick it up, but its usually there to help you pinpoint the sat.
