When I go to the info screeen on any show, the info screen (the semi-transparent one) has the Episode # and Original Air Date in the dark blue font only (the font shadow??) instead of white, which makes it difficult to read. The rest of the info screen looks normal and is perfectly readable. When I click info again to get the ole' opaque info screen (white background, blue font), everything is fine (including the Ep#/Date). This only happens on the one or two lines of the transparent info screen and nowhere else on the 622 (that I know of). I keep current on the software updates (not sure of current version-I'm not at home at the moment)

I've tried to reboot and unplug reboot, but to no avail. Any of you whiz-bang experts know what's going on and how to fix it? It's more of an annoyance than anything. If I really want to see the Ep#/Date, I can just squint really hard or I'll usually hit info again. Anyone else seen this before?

That's just the way it is and has always been as far as I can remember. One extra press.

The 625/522 just got this with 5.30 software upgrade. As far as I can tell, this is the ONLY thing 5.30 changed.

This bug (if it is a bug) on the 625/522/622 reminds me of a recent problem with the 5xx SD models.

A recent upgrade on a neighbor's 510 gives the following information on all recorded programs (See related sites, this is common):

Originally aired: In 2155 Episode: 15871

So far, this information is not presented in the awful blue font, however.

This may be to make the information less obvious and annoying to some--not me. While you can press Info again to get a solid background, I find it a pain, too. Press a third time to get rid of it or just Cancel.

Bingo! IMO that is why Dish changed it. It was a quite deliberate change to me. For most people, the less information you give them, the better.

As others have noted, this is a recent change. I think they did mention "cosmetic" changes related to the guide info in the release notes, so this is likely one aspect of that change.

KKlare & DishSubLA: Just curious, why would Dish want to "hide" this information or make it more difficult to see/read ?

Many users do not care about the episode or original date, so why confuse them

I want to see these to be sure I don't copies of programs I have moved to EHD or have seen more than a week/8-days ago. Specifying "new" does not always solve this as the series itself may be old or the indicator just wrong. When you have a complete set of Arrested Development or Northern Exposure or Futurama, you do not want to be confuse as to which episode it is.

Episode number, yeah! Original Date, yeah!
