622 Channels

First off sorry for the newbie question....

I'm only 3 days into having Dish Network and the 622 DVR. Somehow we managed to make the remote control skip channels, not sure how either. I can tune to the first HBO channel but if I hit the up channel button it skips past all the others in a row. Same with the Sirius channels, I can only tune them if I input the exact channel otherwise it skips past the whole set of them.

I've scoured the user manual but I give up on it, there's nothing I can make out of it so thanks to any help in advance. :up

Try pushing the Guide button twice. The guide has a certain number of lists preprogrammed. You're probably on the ALL HD list.

Coming from a home with no more than basic cable and no cable tuner boxes to this is going to be quite a learning experience for me, I almost feel sorry for my girlfriend.

Let me ask this then....the installer set this system up as a dual mode connected to 2 tv's. After using it for a while, I decided that was just too weird so I hooked the second tv up to an OTA antenna which is all we wanted. I then switched the 622 back to single mode. What I wonder is, how does one watch one channel while recording another? On my stand alone Tivo this was as easy as switching the tv input button but the 622 only has the one HDMI wire connected to the tv.

Do I need to connect the second TV's cable to the first TV to make this happen?

Are you sure that you are using the channel up and channel down buttons and not the "page up" and "page down" buttons?

Look closely at the remote.

To watch one channel while recording another all you have to do is change the channel. With the 622 in single mode you can even watch one channel while recording TWO other channels as long as one of them is OTA.

I thought it would be that simple but, when I try to change the channel while it's recording it says I'm about to stop a recording in progress or some such.

I'm probably making all of this harder than it should be, but then again just blindly pressing buttons on the remote hasn't helped much either. :dev

This 622 seems to do everything but walk my dog, I'm gonna celebrate when I figure out how to just watch TV with it. lol
