I want to upgrade my audio receiver. I have been looking at the Denon 2807 but have read about compatibility issues with the 622. I want a 7.1 receiver with HDMI output. Anyone have experience with this receiver or any recommendations for another that will work with the 622?

The Denon should be fine. I use the 3806. The compatability issue is that the receiver (622) does not use HDMI specifications while Denon does. In addition, the 622/211/411 do not support DD 5.1 over HDMI at this time. Don't look for it to be supported until sometime next year. It's on their list but not at the top of the priority. Use the optical and it will work fine.
