61.5 Help please

Hi guys, I am new to dish network and the sat community. I got some local guys to install two dish network sats at my house. One is for 119/110 and the other for 61.5. Now here is the catch. On my receiver, I am only picking up 110/119 fine. But 61.5 reads wrong sat. in red, but i am getting a 99/125 signal on it. Now if i use model number 311 receiver. that picks up all three 119/110/61.5 signals fine.

I took my receiver over to my cousins house and he is picking up 61.5 up there.
what does the problem seem to be?
please help me

Clear the switch matrix.

Disconnect the satellite feed and run check switch on the receiver. Menu, 6, 1, 1, Check switch.
Connect back the satellite feed and run check switch.

If the problem continues, I would call Dish Network to have the cables, and connectors checked.

but the thing is, at my house, with their connections, other receivers are working with 61.5 fine. My receiver is not working on 61.5 it says wrong sat.
But when i take my receiver to cousins place, it works fine.

someone suggested that they might have installed wrong hardware switches.

The check switch should tell us what equipment you have and if it passes. We can troubleshoot further with the check switch results.

i did the check switch w/o and with the sat pin....still the same thing...

But what did the screen show? DP Twin and DP Dual?

Just do a Sys Info. Menu, 6, 1, 3 and it will check your 3 satellites. If the right equipment is installed, the 3 will show green and it will also display what equipment you have. DP Twin, DP Dual or DP Twin and DP34, etc....

My bet is that you have a bad connector or cable somewhere along the line. Are you using any barrel connectors? Are they rated 3.0 Ghz? Those cheap barrel connectors used for cable may work but eventually will fail. Those are rated to 1.0 Ghz.

the receiver was a 2700....I figured out what the problem was. The guy who installed it was not authorized, he did not install the correct switch or the dish pro adapter. I told him to give me my money back and uninstall everything or fix the issue. He did neither, so i had to call the police and he ended up taking his crap back and giving me my money back. I will get another authorized person to do it this weekend...

i want to get 61.5, 119 and 110.
do i need two dish's? what kind?
what switch do u suggest?

For a 2700 receiver, I would go as follow:

Two 500 dishes, one for 119 and 110 and the other one for 61.5.

a) DP Option. For the 119,110 dish I would get a DP Twin lnb and for the 61.5 a DP Dual lnb.
Combine one cable from each 500 with a DP21 or if you plan to add more receivers in the future use a DP34 and run 3 cables to the switch. One cable from each orbital location. You will also need a DP adapter for the legacy receiver.
Recommended option
b) Legacy Option. For the 119, 110 dish you could get a Legacy Twin and for the 61.5 a legacy dual. Combine one cable from each 500 with a SW21.

i thought he said he had other reciever. 311 or301
