brentb636,:)

Thanks for the reply. Somehow I invision some allien contraption hooking up to the dish. Am I releive.

My next step is to modify a 2 3/8 fence post to obtain the right dimention. This is going to be a fun project, and a new experience with FTA.

I have done some research, but still not too clear on how much of the "C" band channels will I be able to view with this dish, way down here about 30 miles North of New Orleans Louisiana area.

Thanks again

avenger.

Sorry about the confusion. I'm so use to using the term Motor with my "Hot Dish" setup.:D

Looking at the 2 1/2" schedule 40 specs. That OD is just a little larger. Perhaps in South America the pipe size schedules are a little different.
:)
The difference could be a matter of measurement "Units." Almost everyone in the world uses the Metric system except the good old USA that still uses the Inches System.

Dougruss.

Can you post some more photos from the dish frond and back.

Thanks,

Here ya go.............

In the 2nd pic I had my Invacom LNB hooked up just for kicks.

Nasty weather all day here so no work was done today.

Thanks Dougruss for the nice photos i am putting one off those dishes together now.

Thanks for the pic. The exploded view shows the lnbf supports coming from the outside rim of the dish, while your pics show them coming from the outer row of securing bolts. Your pic seems to go with the anatomy of the panels, so I wondered .....
:)

dougrus, I noticed the positioning of the support arms as well. Does mouting the arm between the panels like that widen the seam or is it notched for the support arm?

That's what I thought,( as I scratched my head for several minutes) but there are notches ( indents)at those locations for the support arms to fit into. Plus there are no Holes on the Side edges of the panels and the arms aren't crimped and bent for positioning them for the side panel locations.

But then again my locations might be wrong .If anyone else has theirs together differently,by all means correct me if mine aren't right.
Maybe they get fastened at the very end fasteners?

UPDATE....just went out and moved the supports down to the End Panels locations.

Thanks for bringing that up!

The docs show about 26" from lnbf to dish, you might check that out for rough guessing. If it's close to that, we should be fine, if not, maybe Robbie has an explanation. Here's some pics of the progress, including a pile of soft stuff to support the center during construction. Still some spacers and washers to add, mostly to get the actuator as close to "square" as possible.
:)

Now I'm confused!! lol

After relocating the Arms I get about 22 inches Hmmmm... And Lost Signal.

Moved it back to where I had it and have Signal ( Measured at this point it's 27 1/2" .

Looks like that's where she's staying. lol

Thanks for the experiment. It's pretty much what I thought, considering you had a lot of channels on 91W with the original setup ( and the obvious notches in the panels ). It would be SO BORING if these cheap dishes we play with actually had precise instructions ( and well engineered parts ). Wouldn't be any room for stretching your mind !! :)

Based upon the specs, the focal length should be 682mm or 26.85in. So that would seem to mean you had it mounted correctly the initally. I agree it would be helpful to hear from Robby for confirmation or the arm mounting position. Mine's still in the box as I resisting the urge to open until I have time for the install.

At least I'm not climbing up and down a ladder experimenting ! :D:D

These old bones can't take too much................;)

I know exactly what you mean ! :)
My first Ku dish was a roof mount, motorized 80cm. NEVER AGAIN ! :)
Spent the winter on the roof shoving snow off and generally trying to kill myself.
We don't heal as fast as some younger folks . Don't take any chances that you don't need to.
:)

DougRuss has posted pics showing his arms mounted at the 2d bolthole from the rim. There is an indented section there, on each panel, apparently for attaching the poles at this point. I haven't yet attached my supports, I'll do that when I put the dish on the pole.
:)

put my panels together today, its sitting face down on a mat. hopefully have time to put up on pole before weekend. I'm really interested to see how it compares to my offset 1.2m for Ku.

My dish is up and fixed on 91W, and working fine. Haven't gotten the actuator wiring installed yet, maybe tomorrow. I think you'll be very happy with the improvement over the 1.2M reception.
:)

brentb636, do you have both C and Ku lnbs conntected, a combo C/Ku or just a C?

So where are the arms placed on your Dish? I wish I would the have time to setup my Dish before it gets very cold. BTW, did all washer/nuts accompany the dish? I read here that some folks are missing some nuts and washers. I hope mine arrives with all that is needed to install the Dish.
