54.0 Remote coming

I think you guys are going to LOVE the 54.0 remote. :)

It is possibly the BEST remote DISH has ever offered.

hope the buttons are better than the crappy 52 pos buttons, they are terrible, my wife complained about the remote, i told her to make sure the white letters on the remote light to show the registered button press. the 40,21, and others worked great.

I got my 40.0 remotes today for my Hopper3 and Joey 2s. It is like slipping on a comfortable pair of shoes after the 52.0. One oddity is, when I paired them, they showed up with odd names, like Charlie. I renamed them in the remote setup setting, but it is not what I would have expected. These were new, in-box, and do not appear to be refurbs or anything. Anyway, they seem to work great, so I am pleased.

I have a 50.0 and some 52.0 remotes too. Still use the old 40.0 on everything. I was afraid they’d become hard to get, so I ordered 10 for a good price off of eBay and have a drawer full of new backups now. I have a ‘muscle memory’ for the 40.0 and know where every button is without looking.

They ship by UPS which works by how many zones it has to go through so the more zones, the more expensive it costs... It's $5.99 for ground and $6.49 for 2 day air for just 1 remote here in 94127. They ship from CO.

I live in Colorado and my 54 is shipped from South Carolina.

My 50 remote was shipped from Colorado next day

I hate the 50.0, I have 2 of them and just ordered two of the 54.0 remotes. I wanted voice control for the grandkids on 2 of my sets but I hate the pad on the 50.0, so I hope this gives better results then the stupid pad on the 50.0.

I figured out that for the crappy buttons on the 52 it’s only for the models made in China. The one that came with my SJ was made in Mexico and was of much better quality. And apparently at that point it was still patent pending.

Just checked my acct & for two they wanted to charge me $13.99 in shipping - ridiculous!

Edit - double checked, shipping for one remote was $6.99, wonder why I'm being charged more than other customers for two, $13.99 seems awfully high when both are in same box.
Are you sure about that? The last time I ordered more than one remote from Dish at the same time, each remote came in a separate box.

It seems like one button turns both the TV and receiver on and off, one push.

I prefer separate because I never turn the TV off. It is a Older Samsung that has a capacitor problem and once off, it might take 20-30 minutes to come on.

That might be the one scenario where you wouldn't want the 54 remote then, unless you just leave the sat receiver on all the time, too, and let it go into standby on its own.

WOW, no TV button might be a deal breaker for me too. My Samsung TV CEC is wired. It will turn on TV and Hopper but will not turn off TV.

I'm sure you can still hit the TV input button, then hit the main power button to turn off a TV independently of the sat receiver. There is still a TV input button on the side, just not a dedicated TV Power button.

Thanks DWS44. Remotes suppose to be here Monday. My wife has already told me that she will not use it. She uses the 52.0 and 40.0 now and is happy camper. She is tired of learning new stuff I guess. I am not asking her! :coco

My Tampa Bay's Local Channel's And Superstations Off Last Night !
