I keep telling low level people at Dish that they need to add the ability to control what time the receiver checks for system upgrades but it still was not part of this big update. Can somebody get the folks over at dish to wake up and add this ability.

I thought something had been done when 1:00 am came and went with no message popping up on to see it 28 minutes later and an hour after that . . . . . etc

This is just so wrong and frustrating...

I heartily agree. It is annoying when watching TV late night. Further, by our setting the time, like in the ViP's, it can update without annoying messages. I would like to set one of our Hoppers to 4AM or 5AM as that one person is sometimes in bed watching into 3AM. Now, all she does is freak out (she's old) when she sees the pop-up at 1AM. I'm sure everyone else would appreciate setting the update time to one that is best for their household. Also, I don't want it to drop what's in the buffer when I get a snack at around 1AM. Why didn't Dish at least default it to 3AM, like the older boxes. That would seem a better time when most are asleep. 1AM in our house is still TV watching in bed. We're still watching Craig Kilborne or CNN's repeats of Piers or Andy Cooper.

Also, I don't want it to drop what's in the buffer when I get a snack at around 1AM.

This is the part that is killing me....You build up an hour or so of buffer so you can skip some commercials but inevitably when it's time for a snack you come back to see it has rebooted and not only is your commercial buffer time gone but so is the show you were watching.

We know we can hit record...but we want to know how freakin hard is this TINY software addition?????

Even worse Is when you have EHDs connected, the update time goes from less than 5 minutes to 45+ minutes!
