I installed a superdish 121 and followed all the installation instructions for pointing the dish using my zip code.
i.e. peak signal at 110, and then at 121 and do a check switch (dp34).
I have a PVR 508 receiver. The problem I have is this:
After check switch, my receiver does 1 of 3 and goes on till 3 of 3 and then comes up with port 1 as not connected (N.C.)
I had
port 1 to 110 - N.C.
port 2 to 119 - Feed
port 3 to 121 - Feed

I get only 119 and 121. I tried swapping port 1 and 2 (i.e. 110 and 119) and again I get port 1 not connected - this time I get

port 1 to 119 - N.C.
port 2 to 110 - Feed
port 3 to 121 - Feed

Could this be a switch problem or receiver problem?
I have a blue smartcard on 508 and upon activation was told by Dish Network that they will be sending me an updated Yellow card. Are they prompt in sending out the cards (it has been around a week by now) and could this be because of the older smartcard?

Thanks,

The center conductor on the cable going into Sat Input 1, which is currently from 119, is too short. And I would bet that the other two ports (Input 2 and Input 3) are just barely making connections.

If the center conductor is just barely past the beginning of the threads, they are not short, I would make sure they are at least 3/16 or even longer.

EDIT: To test my theory, if you have a barrel connector and a short piece of RG-6 that has a longer center conductor on one end, then connect the long end into Port 1 on the DP34, and then connect the other end to the cable coming from 119 using the barrel connector to splice it. Then run a check switch.

Then if this test works, you should replace the 3 connectors on the 3 cables that go into the DP34 switch, and it would not hurt to ensure the cable leaving the switch (Output 1 - 4) also have longer conductors. However, you do not need to worry about the other ends going into the LNBF's, or into the receiver.
