501 alternate source?

Is it possible to record to the 501 from an alternate source? For instance, I have a HD Tuner and would like to record some content (yes I understand it will be in standard definition if recorded).

I recently moved and my user guide is still in a box somewhere!

No, the Dishnetwork DVR's can only record their own satellite stream.
