5 lnb wiring diagram

My dishpro plus 44 is full and I'd like to be able to add 77W when it comes on line in the next month or so.

I recall someone explaining that the receivers can support up to 5 satellites and what is needed to add the 5th. Might have been Iceberg but I can't find the thread in my searches.

It's very rare when someone needs the full 5 satellite setup. Unless there are Line of Site issues, we can get you all of your channels with 4 sats

Would this mean, acvording to the diagram, that the single tuner in the diagram would not get the 5th sat?

Not that i need this. I am just interested.
 
actually you could get that in there. This is one of the few (maybe the only) where a satellite splitter would work since its DishPro (and dishpro is bandstacked)
Put the splitter on the 61.5 output and then run the outputs to the DP21's. You would only need one output from the 61.5 LNB and can hook it to 4 DP21's
 
what the heck would you need 5 sats for? just use either eastern arc or western arc depending of which satellite broadcasts your locals. other than that east arc and west arc are directly mirrored in programming. absolutely no need for this 5 sat setup. if you got nlos for 1 sat on a 1000.2 or 1000.4 setup then get a dp sing/dual and run it into the "lnb in" port or if your using 1000+ then use a dpp 44 switch which will shut off the internal switch in a dpp lnb, then run the cables in the correct order that was taught in training. If your a do-it-yourselfer, well I'm sure theres a post on here explaining that as I could write a whole page of info on that topic.
 
this whole thread is confusing me the more i look at it. like the wiring diagram used. now there are dpp 500+ lnbs so no switch is needed. but if you have a line of sight issue on your old 1000+ setup using an old lnb then just don't hook up the lnb output of the satellite with no line of sight to the switch and instead hook the wing dish to that port on the switch. In no way do you need 5 sats. Either 110, 118, 119 and 129 or 61.5, 72.7 and 77. Or if you get special programming from 118 and need an eastern arc setup for your locals then use a 1000.4 to 61.5, 72.7 and 77 and hook in 118 to the LNB IN port on the 1000.4. Remember on a DPP 500+ lnb you need a dpp44 switch to shut off the internal switch of the dpp 500+ lnb and the 1000.4 lnb so that would be cabled as such---1000.4 #1 72.7, #2 61.5, #3 77 and then cable from port #3 on the dpp 500+ lnb for 118 and then on the dpp 44 switch from inputs top to bottom --- top 72.7, then 61.5, 77 and then 118. If you cable this setup correctly you will successfully shut the internal switches inside the lnbs off and will not have any problems.

why not?Some of us like to experiment with our dish setups. Heck my ghetto dish setup was pretty good
An old Direct Phase II with separate LNB's for 110 & 119
a 36" dish for 129
an aftermarket (SW31) switch

going to a 211k...yeah it seems odd but its what I had laying around :)
 
That vaporware is GREAT! Very manly. You could connect up both arcs to 4 receivers. (Can Dish receivers handle 6 sats?) One feature I liked with my old hybrid arc installation was that thunderstorms rolling by almost never blocked both 110/119 and 61.5 simultaneously. So, for example, if on a HD channel I could switch to the SD equivalent (or vice versa) and continue watching until the thunderstorm passed.

after picking up a 44 with the heat sink ( a real hunk of metal), I'd guess it stayed vapor after seeing the workmans comp claims they would get for bad backs carrying that thing around.

It really shows how their plans changed over the past 15 years.
