I just purchased and set up a slim line 5 LNB dish. I am getting 0 signal accross all satellites. I have switched the Head of the 5 LNB with another, swapped cables as well as boxes. If i was getting somewhat close to the satellite i would get some signal. I am getting zero signal accross the board. Are the units compatible. In the set up of the D12 Receiver the only option is for 1,2,3 LNB none for 5 LNB could their be compatibility issues. I am not running a switch rather using the one within the dish

Sounds like the setup on the receiver isn't matching the dish. No matter what a D12 should see 101, 110, and 119 on a Slimline.

The setup procedure on the D12 for a 3 LNB dish centers the pointing at 110 deg. Since the 5 LNB dish is centered at 101 deg., you should use the azimuth and elevation settings called for with a single LNB dish (along with the tilt setting called out for the 3 LNB dish.

This may seem like a crazy question but are you actually paying for service?

if you have a sinle rec. hooked up to it then the rec. does not have enough juice to power up that dish try to d12s then you should get something

I've installed serveral Slimline 5 LNB dishes for DTV and have hooked up several rcvrs to them and I've never had a problem... I have not hooked up a D-12 yet, we over ordered and still have a few D-11's. I've been using a Super Buddy to sight in the dishes and it works great.
You might want to grab a satellite installer rolling down your street and ask him to sight in your dish for you. Or start from scratch and make sure the pole is plum and your skew is correctly set for you area and then put the dish on the mast and make sure you have voltage on your coax cable coming from your rcvr to fire up the lnbs. Take your time swinging the dish.. east and west and up and down.. good luck...

The tilt adjustments between a 3 LNB and a Slimline in my area are about 8 degrees different, so this may not work.

To the OP, your best bet would be to post your zipcode and see if someone will provide you with the correct settings to point your dish.
