On Friday, I had a 4K mini client added to the location where my HR-54 sits. I requested the install be done this way and I know it resulted in a $7 a month charge, but I have my reasons. The installer split the cable that was running to my HR-54 into two cable runs, one of which went back to the HR-54 and the other went to the new 4K client. I didn’t notice it until he was done and I’m wondering now if that introduces any degradation in the signal.
I don’t notice anything unusual when I tune to channel 104 but I’ve never seen 4K on DIRECTV before, so I have no point of comparison. I believe I have a digital SWM if that matters in answering the question “Should I be concerned about this install?”
If I should be concerned, where should that second cable (to the 4K client) originate from?
Thanks in advance for any input because I have the direct phone number of the Mastech guy who did the install.
