I just want to make sure I'll get the major networks everywhere in the US while in the RV without having to apply for the distant networks service.

Yup, if you have them now, your good.
Now keep in mind it will only be the Big 4 plus CW in this case.
The other 20 you won't get.

That's good to hear. With Dish Network, the national beam is disabled unless you sign up for the distant networks service even if your service address is in LA. So the same channels they have available nationwide are only available to you on a spotbeam. I thought Directv might do the same.

In this case, the National Big 4 are on Conus (Continental US) with D*.
