4K Events Discussion Thread

On Thursday 7October there will be 2 MLB fox 4K games along with NFL ... will dish have all 3 events?

I saw your confirmation for the NFL game on Thursday, but didn't see MLB for Thursday only Friday , Sunday

Because one of those baseball games is on at the same time as the football game, I am going to predict that neither baseball game will be 4K on Thursday. I would be surprised if they aired.

As you know DirecTV has a different view of these airings. Although DISH has more 4K channels designated they have never used them. They only show one event at a time. Perhaps a bandwidth issue, I don’t know.

If you want to watch either of the ALDS baseball games today in 4K/HDR they are available via the Fox Sports app using your DISH credentials. The football game is also available in 4K/HDR the way. HDR is not available using Apple TV but works using Roku or FireTV.

Paying for 4K channels and have to go to a streaming service! That's just not right!

What service? It seems that 4K isn't being used. Why should I have to go to Roku etc. to get 4K.
Once again you do not pay for 4K, it comes with the other services you sub to. 4K is being used and has been for several years. If you look at the 4K thread you can clearly see that it has. It is just today that the 2 baseball games will not be 4K on DISH but the NFL game is.

I watched the 4k and was trying to figure out who puked on the Seahawks uniforms! :biggrin

I thought it looked pretty good although the carpet looked a funny color. Is that the normal color. Good game also though I am not a fan of either team.

Watching Game 6 on the 4K channel today and to me it's the best it's ever looked on my Sony x900e. Usually, the 4k channel would show colors weird and the red was always off, at least on the Sony x900e, but today it looks exactly like it should look. I'm shocked to be honest!

Strange folks are saying the opposite on multiple other providers and via apps

Seamed like the colors were off red/orange too bright but saw complaints all across the board

You are right, it looked terrible everywhere. Like everyone was sunburned.

I spent almost ten minutes fighting with the Error 890 on my Hopper 3 and LG C9 OLED trying to watch the Wolverines hosting the Hoosiers in the Big House. I tried all the usual tricks, and when I was about to give up and tune in our 720p OTA signal, I tried tuning in the Olympics 4K channel, then tuning in 540-01 from the Guide. So far, so good.
