Ever since this site went to https I have been getting recurring 404 not found errors.Today after repeated attempts with no success to get here,I cleared the cache/cookies (Pale Moon) still no luck, tried Chrome, same 404.
Finally got in thru and old Conversation I dug out of the deleted folder in my email.Just wondering what might be causing this?

Not me I have been driving through Canada all day today. I will check the logs when I get a chance when I get to the hotel.

I was just going to mention this. For about month or so, once in a blue moon I've been receiving "404 Not Found".

The only way that I have been able to get this far is through the WION homepage. Otherwise I get a 404. I did flush that dns.

It may help Scott if you note the OS you're having troubles with. I'm using Firefox and I have yet to get a 404 on Debian 8 or Windows 7.

primestar31's suggestion won't work unless you're running Windows XP or earlier, or are an Administrator on your PC running Windows 7 and beyond (well, Vista, technically, but who runs that?) And you better not be running as Admin under Windows unless you have a death wish for your files.

Back to the topic at hand, I have not seen 404 errors today on my iPhone or Mac running Safari.

its terrible for me....tried clearing the catche with no luck.

the only way to get here is using internet explorer to a old thread.

this problem was intermittent for perhaps a month but now has become repeatedable

Just a few minutes ago I got the 404 using my bookmark in Chrome which is a link to the Forums page. At the same time I could go directly to the Pub using a different bookmark.

Okay tonite 404ed again, tried the "conversation"trick,404,went to Rabbit Ears and finally got here.
Using Win7Pro 64bit,Pale Moon or Chrome, also note that when I log out it goes to the 404.
Oh and just to add,Verizon DSL,if that makes any difference.Having no problems with any other site, just this one.

If you are running Windows, go out to a Command Prompt and type: ipconfig /flushdns

Then hit the ENTER key. It should say: "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache". Then try getting to the site again.
Just tried it,didn't improve anything,at least I can still get here thru Rabbit Ears.

Okay, peeking at my Safari Console on this page, I see this resource is returning a 404 (HTTP/2.0 404):
Code:
https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/styles/uix/charm/widgets/quicknav.svg#quicknav

And the Forums page has another link that returns the same 404 error:
Code:
https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/styles/uix/charm/widgets/node-icon@2x.png

still bad here. no access except occasional success using internet explorer. this is very annoying:(

aol access fails every time.

it must be something with the site, no other problems anywhere

I had the 404 error for about an hour yesterday morning. I'm on Win10 using Firefox. I tried Chrome and received the same error. I cleared the cache and cookies and still had the issue. I finally got back in through an old link. No problems since then.

It seems odd that there would be an "jump link" (#quicknav) associated with what would appear to be a SVG graphic (quicknav.svg). The quicknav.svg file itself is "missing" so the jump link to somewhere within the file returns a 404.
And the Forums page has another link that returns the same 404 error:
Code:
https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/styles/uix/charm/widgets/node-icon@2x.png
This may be an encoding failure (by the server?) in not encapsulating/escaping the @ sign that has always been a reserved character (encoded %40). The URI to access such a filename should be .../node-icon%402x.png if properly encoded.

Could you describe the buttons associated with these links?
