Trying to teach my Hopper remote missing buttons for my LG TV. The remote seems to learn them a little too well and sends the learned codes three times for each key press.

Tried this with two separate 40.0 remotes. Has anyone else seen this? Have any ideas?

Do you hold the original remote's button down for a good firm press when teaching the dish remote? If so, it may be interpreting it as multiple key presses.

If this is what's happening, try doing the key press as quickly as possible on the original remote while learning from it. Just a super quick tap. Bam.

I'm not saying that's the problem, or that this will work. But, it might be worth a shot.

No, that's not the problem. The LG remote only appears to send a single copy of the command on a key press. The TVs status light blinks when receiving a command. Only blinks once with the original remote, three distinct blinks with the learned buttons on the 40.0 remote. A 21.0 remote learns and plays back the commands just fine.

Even tried teaching the 40.0 remote from the "taught" 21.0 remote for the heck of it and got the same triple play back on the 40.0.

I've had this problem with all Dish remotes, even with built in codes. They seem to send more repeats than the original, and I haven't found any way around it. Luckily a lot of devices ignore the extra repeats, but apparently not LG.

Never had (and don't) have a problem with built in codes, only the learned codes on 40.0. 20.0/21.0 remotes learn and playback fine.
