I understand that I can't receive the video of a channel broadcasting in 4:2:2 with my Fortec Star Mercury II receiver. But would I be able to view a channel broadcast in 4:2:0 HD with this receiver (on a non-HD television set)?

No, you would need a VERY expensive receiver or a DVB PC card for HD.

So, just to clarify, I'd just be able to watch channels that are broadcast in 4:2:0 digital and 4:2:0 analog with my Mercury II receiver?

Analog doesn't have a 4:2:0 or 4:2:2
its either free or encrypted :D

You would use an old analog C/KU recever to pick those chanenls up (analog)
