311 Upgrade for HD

I recently bought a weekend home and it came with 2 receivers (311). When I travel to the home I take the cards from my regular home. Even though I get HD at my regular home, I cannot get HD on these 311 receivers. My question is can I buy replacement receivers so I can get HD? Which one's should I buy? I don't need to record. Will my satellite need replacing?

The 311 is an SD receiver, and very likely does not have a dish pointed at the right satellites for HD either. What you want is the 211 or 211k. I wasn't aware of the possibility of moving smart cards between receivers. I thought they were married to a single receiver and that's that.

311 has a built in smart card so he maybe inserting his smart card but actually using the old on board cards.
