311 and Tivo

I see some cheap cheao tivo prices.
I am havinga time using a vcr with 311 and local OTA and then trying to tell wife vcr on ch 3 etc.

It can be confusing

Anyone using Tivo with a 311 or reg digi Dish box.

Step me thru hook up etc
Good and bad etc.
Does the TIVO us it OWN dish menu

Good/Bad: Sufficient, still prefer the two tuner DirecTivo (but opinions are like you know what = )

I'm using my Standalone Series 2 with my 322 and it works just fine.

I have the S-Video from the 322 going into the Tivo, and the Tivo controls the 322 via IR blaster. The absolute best source of info for Tivo, including detailed instructions for how to get it to work with ANY satellite or cable box is

Matt if not too much trouble can you go into settings and see if tivo guide has DISH for Evansville, In locals listed or can I assume all dish local areas are in tivo? I want to be very sure before I go buy tivo

It usually takes Tivo like 2 weeks or so to get the guide data for NEW local areas. As long as your local channels have been avail. on DISH for longer than that, you'll be fine.
