Comparing your aim to a Dish Network or DirecTV dish often works very well. A Phase III DirecTV dish will be basically facing the 110w satellite (middle LNBF). Galaxy 10 at 123w is west of there, and if your elevation is correct, just panning the dish west will eventually get it for you.
If I'm in a strange neighborhood and am trying to install a dish (was in this situation when I evacuated to Baton Rouge following Katrina), I just look at the DirecTV and Dish Network dishes in the area, and I don't need a compass to do my install
