I live in the hometown of "Best That Never Was" Marcus Dupree. I always like Marcus, he was my flag football coach years ago. But many people say the film did not tell all of the story, and he was not as innocent in his downfall as they showed. I played against his son Marquez in High School ( I played at the county school and Marquez played at the city school) Marquez was a gifted athlete, signed with Alabama, but wasn't even there a few weeks. When we were in school he was arrested for stealing earrings from Walmart. Marcus' new fame has been good for him but Marquez is still getting in trouble. This is from our local jail docket from last week: • Marquez Dupree, 28, of 419 Austin St., hold for DHS, felony possession of marijuana, hold for PD 80. Sad these talented people don't take advantage of their talents.
