Hdmi port went bad on my 211k i have another one do i just switch them out and call to have the old one turned off and the new one turned on. :)

One of my 211s also just had the HDMI port go out, but my TV has a component input as well so I can switch to that.

I've had this 211 for several years and I don't even recall if this receiver is "leased" or "owned" and if that makes any difference in getting a replacement from Dish. How should I proceed from here?

It makes no difference whether it is owned or leased, Dish will replace it without cost. You may have to pay shipping depending on if you have the maintenance plan or not.
