2024-2025 NCAA Football Thread

We were highly annoyed with ESPN for keeping Leonard from his final chance to participate in the "Hail to Notre Dame" song with the rest of his Irish teammates.

Props to the IU Defense for keeping the game close for most of the first three quarters. Notre Dame’s kicker had some success for a change, but when they blocked ND's final Field Goal, that seemed to deflate the Irish Spirit. IU went on to march down the field, score a touchdown, get the 2-point conversion, recover the onside kick, and get another touchdown. The ND defender who deflected the pass inches from the IU receiver during the last 2-pt attempt sealed ND's victory. ND recovering the 2nd onside kick allowed the Irish an "ugly" win and the right to play #2 Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.

Notre Dame will need to bring a much better game if they’re going to have a chance against the Bulldogs on New Year’s day.

We were hoping for a lot more snow, too, but they got just a few flakes. I was keeping an eye on the radar and there were snow bands coming in from the Lake, but they didn’t amount to much. A couple of friends got tickets to the game and were getting a little nervous in those final four minutes.

We were at a party three miles from the stadium, but far enough away that the traffic wasn’t bad after the game. Mrs. Foxbat, who works downtown, said the traffic headed north to the stadium and the tailgate parties was pretty heavy when she came home around three. Foxbat, Jr., arrived from the Indy area Thursday night and was surprised by the number of cars on US 31 coming north with him. He heard from one of his friends that traffic was even heavier Friday, so he was glad he came up when he did.

The local ND bar, Corby's, had been reserved by the IU Alumni Association and was a sea of Crimson Thursday night. Made the local news. IU has a campus in South Bend, so this playoff game was a huge financial boost for South Bend and Michiana; lots of IU grads in our area.

If Ohio State beats Tennessee and plays Oregon next, then I don't see Ohio State winning against Oregon the way they played against Michigan. Ryan Day better coach them up good because I don't think he will have a job if he loses. JMO.
NOw that Ohio State Curb Stomped Tennessee, how do you feel about the Ohio State vs Oregon Rose Bowl game.

Buckeyes looked 10,000% different from that TTUN game.

But be sure to realize that Tennessee was probably the third most overranked team in the tournament, almost as overranked as Notre Dame and Indiana.

Beating Oregon should be no problem, if was refereed fairly in their first meeting, Ohio state would have disposed of them at that point.

May as well not even have the games then...

Fwiw, Tennessee has one of the best D Lines in the game.

Had they beat the Buckeyes, would you still consider them Over ranked ?

Had seen quite a bit about Tennessee during the SEC season. They were not particularly impressive then and I'm not sure what team you're talking about having the best defense. I think Georgia, Alabama, etc fans May disagree and feel that they're teams defenses were much stronger.

If Tennessee had won the game, I would have wondered who had fixed the game, although the bucknuts seem to love losing to Losers, e.g. look at ttun games as of late, ttun was beat even by the whooshiers.

Oh, yes, they Love losing to TTUN.

So, tell me who the Top sec teams are that should have been there instead of Tennessee ?
Bama, Ol Miss ... did they beat Tennessee ?
Bring them on, Buckeyes would have done the same to them ...
Do you really think this years Bama team is better than the teams below #8 Ohio State ?
Just where would you put a Jekyll and Hyde Bama team.

Personally, I don't think Georgia is any better , with or without Beck .
Others have said that they think Georgia shouldn't be in the playoffs as the y lost thier QB.
I disagree, but we heard that back when the teams were being chose.
Georgia is Not the power house they have been in recent years.

You have to have Some one in there to play ...
Otherwise you go back to the top 2/4 teams decided by no one particular.

The Committee will get IN, who ever they want, weather its Human picking or Computers, (Someone has to input the info into the Computer)
