I like the 33 yard extra point, even though it probably cost my team in the AFC championship game:mad:. A play that is converted at 99 to 100% of the time is just boring.

The kick off touchback coming to the 25 yardline is Ok, I think it will do the opposite of what they intended though, there will now be more kickoff returns because coaches will instruct their kickers to kick it to the goal line.

Yeah, you've made that clear, time and time again, even when there's no reason to.

I am very surprised so many here think Goodell just make $#!7 up and think it does not go through some approval process. He works FOR THE OWNERS and not the other way around. IF they, as in the owners, don't like something, the owners will not approve it. Simple as that.

Am I wrong in this?

What's surprising is that they continue with that narrow-minded thinking, even after repeated explanations of the facts. No one says you have to like the guy, but to continue to make up or exaggerate stories just to justify their hatred is maddening.

Oh bullcrap.

Shall I go through him ignoring science, hiring of Exponent, lying about an independent investigation, refusal to go under oath.

Are those made up or exaggerations?

If anyone has narrow minded thinking it's Godell himself.

Those recent discussions I was referring to had nothing to do with Goodell's disciplinary powers, which I agree was a mistake for him to take on. Instead, there are folks here who blame Goodell for rule changes, trying to grow the NFL brand, etc., whether or not he had any actual hands-on involvement in it.

This has been happening for awhile now ....
I'm sure all these kickers didn't just get weak and unable to kick it out of the endzone ... :(

I don't mind the ball coming out to the 25, doesn't matter one way or the other to me.

And how many of the owners actually know the game well enough to make those rule changes, all they see is money.

The difference is you can actually back up and defend your argument rather than double down on it when presented with facts or how things are actually done.

It's to the point that really I wish the moderators would start doing something about it. There's no intent to be constructive or make a point, it's just thread crapping.

OK. Sorry if that came off rude.

Yeah, the new rules are proposed by teams(the Patriots introduced the longer extra point last year). Than the competition committee reviews the proposals and than the owners vote. Some of the more ridiculous rule proposals don't make it past the committee(the Ravens wanting to make players who report as eligible who's numbers are ineligible to wear pinnies).

As much as I don't like what Goodell has done to the Pats and Brady, he's not going anywhere while the money and rating are at an all time high.

lol 'just to make changes'.

Everything can be traced back to money, and an exciting game is a more profitable one. You keep people in seats and eyeballs in the TV if extra points only matter 4% or whatever it is of the time.

"Used Car salesman" John Elway has chutzpah, that's for sure.

Report: 49ers agree to trade Colin Kaepernick to Broncos
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/video/report-49ers-agree-trade-colin-224004771.html

but the quarterback must first agree to a restructured deal with Denver

I see Colin Kaepernick joining the ranks of Elvis Dumervil & Brock Osweiler in telling Elway to shove it.
Edit: I guess Elway thinks that he's this guy.
