I thought the last few weeks with the teams they were playing would be interesting ...

Well it has been interesting, as other teams have climbed back in. If they could only play the sox more :)

Back when the Tigers were playing good ball, offensively they were working the count and hitting thier pitch, in the last 3-4 weeks they have been swinging at the 1st few pitches regularly, thus Not working the count and keeping Starting pitchers IN the game because of it.

Another good start. Twins take 2 of 3 in Toronto. Still 2 games under .500, but very encouraging.

Well, with the Tigers shaky bullpen, they have a 10-1 lead today, still early (5th inning) ... Sanchez is on the mound today, so they may have him out there for probably 7 innings, so that gives them 2 innings to blow it.

When Phil Coke comes in, I'll turn it off.

Crazy game. Horrible pitching.
Sanchez pitched well, 2 runs into the 7th.

As I mentioned above, would a 10-1 lead be enough ?

Almost gave it up ... with a 11-1 lead going into the 7th and it almost wasn't enough.

Tigers end up winning 12-9 ...

Sanchez was the only one. Swarzak wasn't bad, but the rest were. Rubber game today!
Thats what bI meant when I said Sanchez was good, the Tigers pen is awful ...
One pitcher may be good one day and not the next,, the whole pen can't pitch well the same day.

After that hot start I never thought the Tigers would spend a day in 2nd place for the rest of this season. I have no doubt that they will get back on track. The pitching is not as bad as they have shown for the last month or so.

On a more off topic note, I hope everything is alright with Riffjim. I noticed an unusually lack of participation from him in this thread so I checked out his profile. It looks like he hasn't been online since May 29th.
